91-7
Easy to turn a comrade
Into an enemy.
But try it the other way,
You quarrel with someone,
To wait, though it cost dear,
For the enemy’s hand of peace.
Not to go with him into crime,
And not to drag him into yours.
To strengthen for now
Both you and him.
To look into the eyes,
Forget the grievances,
And in shared inspiration
Leave the prison.
A prison that with hatred
Has been covered in mold
And with the hoarfrost of fury
The walls have been coated.
And embracing in joy
Under the glow of dawn,
We shall go unbound
Toward a country of friendship.
