Jokes are a serious matter:
They will cheer, but they will also kill,
One must and one may joke:
Wisely, not just any how.

So the feeble may get on their feet,
And the boor may sow good:
Having broken horns with jokes,
Jokingly drive evil from others too.

And so that no one would cry,
Let snide irony
And cruel sarcasm
Depart, as a false weapon,
As a disgusting absurdity.
