Turn the cheek, let God strike —
He will not knock out a tooth, but will strengthen,
Will rid bones and body of sluggishness,
Will teach how to become gold and flint.

Only let the fleshly heart in His palm
Humbly receive grace,
Love and joy inexpressible,
For hatred and sorrow will fly away.

The past will lie upon the tablets
As a witness of the Father’s miracles,
We shall see what comes next,
And for now: Christ is Risen!
