Yesterday a great misfortune happened in my family.

A cousin stabbed his mother and sister to death, gravely wounded another sister and a neighbor…

Behind the bars
Of the cage
The birds sing,
Freedom calls to them,
Neither lock
Nor little door
Can be found,
Nature mocks the prisoner.

He caught the feathered ones,
Kept them in captivity,
Stole the sky from them,
Tied them,
Sold them,
And now he has found himself in their role —
The Most High’s court has caught up with me too.

He left no way out,
And sealed
Every crack…
I asked for forgiveness
For a cruel guilt,
Did not plead, did not prevail…
So at last he decided —
I’ll smash what I can, and perish myself.
