As in the anxious times
Of Batu’s locust swarm
If they do not build walls
The Poles, the khokhols and the Litvins,
Europe will wash itself in blood,
Will also lie down in the trenches,
Having suffered the horrors of war.

Portugal and Spain,
And with them Italy,
Britain in the corner,
And Scandinavia above
Slowly come to their senses,
That the Vikings and the Slavs —
Are their shield. Asia halted.

Those squeezed by two seas
And the horde
Will they join them to their projects?
Or rank even today’s heroes
Among the shadows of forgotten ancestors?
