603-9
So far and so near,
Is and is not at once.
Life burns out so quickly,
Yet still has not gone out.
Ours — mine and another’s,
The mortal — in truth eternal,
Nowhere and never — here and already,
The everyday and the strange coexist.
The atheist is right about zero and absence,
Yet the church bell rings!
Empty past and a full futurity —
He is omnipresent.
