537-8
Philosophy longs for wisdom,
Holy Scripture gives it.
It adds confidence and calm courage
To bow to the Most High,
To serve one’s neighbor
And to value one’s own.
Sometimes what I did not ask for comes,
What to do with it — I do not fully know.
But I bear the most fruit
When I receive what I am waiting for.
There is no need to fear stumbling and falling.
It is far worse to stand in place.
So as to betray neither God nor myself,
I go to search.
