468-9
To lay freedom on bayonets,
To tend the empire’s welfare,
To shepherd one’s own peoples,
To drive off foreign wolves —
Intercontinental artillery is not enough.
One must have the fear of God.
The most powerful ruler,
Enemy to people and to God —
A worthless master,
His gains are dust.
He will conquer half the world,
Turn it to ruin,
Call down all curses upon himself,
He will enter history without a doubt —
Of his own shame
And his country’s cruelty
He will write in blood into the centuries.
