(coauthored with a modest beginner)
You asked me to write something pleasant,
Well then, I’ll try…
Talking with you is so sweet
I count it fate’s reward.
I am no poet, no artist of the word,
For I compose only primitive texts.
Yet I hope that my speech
Is able to carry feeling through.
I want to say something, somehow
On the model of Shakespeare’s sonnets,
So that your pulse would quicken
Only from joyful and tender moments.
