A slap of fate does not come by surprise,
Experience warns of it.
Did you like the forbidden bauble too much?
They do not want to let go?
Justice punishes
And takes it away.

For prevention, for the good of the disobedient,
So that they are not drawn to something worse,
So that conscience and scruples do not drowse,
So that the insolent creation does not forget the Creator.

It was not man who dictated laws to Him,
By which one must live.
Man ignored them and did not accept them —
And so will be beaten.
