The born, having clothed themselves in bodies,
Pass through purgatory.
They choose the good —
They receive
Life,
The evil
Die themselves
And harm others.

Their examiners —
Patrons and dictators,
Nature and society,
Prison or freedom, village or city.

And the inner voice,
Conscience and scruple
Look beyond the horizon.
They save the soul —
They offer confession.
