289-9
I have seen repentance
Each has their own.
Someone pities and weeps,
Someone spits on holiness.
He came to confession and boasts,
We thought a sinner — in fact a hero.
He mocks the truth, jeers at the good,
Sober in appearance, a drunken cowboy.
My neighbor litters,
Seeking death,
But the Most High advises
To tidy mine, wash it and wipe it clean.
