265-8
Before a neighbor in heroism
The cries of principle will quiet,
With the disgrace of names, and the faceless,
Disappointed guests will disperse
(Tolerance is a rarity for the flesh).
Into the heavenly archives it will be written:
“For all that, the inspired who stand out
Will remain as a memory to egoists
Vain efforts to dominate.”
The radiance of stars goes blind in the cities.
As if the townspeople are hidden even from God.
The grandeur of the sky, the fear before the Universe
Flee, ashamed, ignored.
