How does Abel live?
He gathers for the Creator,
Before death he will SET the offering alight,
Having pleased God, he dies.

Cain rages:
“Take not his, but mine!”
He searches for his brother,
But that one has already left the world,
There is no competitor left,
The last coal smolders.

The altar is broken,
The fire has gone out.
Abel is to live in eternity,
Not among us sinners.
