I am jealous and I envy,
God only is jealous —
For a person’s conversion.
Our repentance is His concern.
And to envy Himself
He has no reason.
For He — the world’s Sovereign,
We — His property.
Can a master
Fall into envy
Of himself? Or steal
From himself?
Or put
Not there,
Where He has need?
