Laid into nature
Is more energy
Than into photographs.
The soul’s structure is visible.
You hear elegies
From a human core.
A photograph —
Is a cross-section,
A moment torn out,
Though it be beautiful,
It conceals the unknown.
It lies without breath.
But greater in the living
Artist is the danger.
It sets the teeth on edge —
The splinter of attachment.
